Introducing the New Faculty/Staff Bulletin Board

We would like you to know that you now have access to the new Faculty/Staff Bulletin Board. The Bulletin Board is a pilot program that all SCSU faculty and staff can use by going to http://huskynet.stcloudstate.edu and clicking on the “Faculty/Staff Bulletin Board” button on the right side of the page.

The Bulletin Board was developed in an effort to give SCSU faculty and staff an interactive space where they can post and view announcements, information and events such as:

• For Sale/For Free
• For Rent
• Wanted
• Lost and Found
• Job postings
• Weather
• Campus/Community Announcements
• Campus/Community Events

In addition to being able to log in to view and post items, you also have the option to subscribe to receive “Alerts” in your e-mail Inbox about the items in which you are interested.

To help you get acquainted with the Bulletin Board, we are offering two training sessions on Thursday, Sept. 20 from 11-11:50 a.m. and 1-1:50 p.m. in Miller Center 218. Log in at https://www5.stcloudstate.edu/workshop to register.

Please note that this project is still under development, and we will be making changes and improvements to the Bulletin Board as needed. We welcome any feedback you might have. For additional help or questions, please contact the HelpDesk at mailto:helpdesk@stcloudstate.edu or 308-2077.

Thank you.

Office 2007 - What's New?

Here is the video from the Thursday, February 15th presentation of "Office 2007 - What's New".

http://mediasite.stcloudstate.edu/mediasite/viewer/?peid=69e02be3-7fef-438f-806a-2dae6986153f

Unfortunately the video started a couple of minutes late and the quality (sound, video) isn't the greatest.

Office 2007 save as pdf or xps add-in

Save from the following applications to pdf or xps. Probably don't want to install this immediately, but just be aware it is out there. We are looking at a way to automate this so it would be part of the initial deployment chain.

Microsoft Office InfoPath 2007
Microsoft Office OneNote 2007

New Office 2007 user interface discussed

From Microsoft site, this article has an overview of the new interface.

Where did this menu go in Office 2007?

The interface for Office 2007’s ribbon could be confusing for some users.  Many will say, where did this menu or command go?  Microsoft has a couple of guides that show the previous command in Office 2003 and then where to find it in Office 2007.  One is a nice flash interactive and the other is a downloadable Excel spreadsheet (Ribbon mapping workbook).
